Pregnancy and the postpartum period bring many physical and emotional changes, yet many parents say they aren't sure where to turn when they're struggling. While healthcare providers often discuss prenatal care, labour, and infant health, conversations about mental health and therapy may not always receive the same attention.

Conditions such as anxiety, depression, and postpartum mood disorders can affect anyone during pregnancy or after giving birth. Early education about available resources—including counselling, therapy, peer support groups, and crisis services—can help parents recognize when they need support and encourage them to seek help sooner.

Every family's experience is different. Some parents feel well-informed throughout their pregnancy and postpartum journey, while others wish they had received more guidance about protecting their mental health.
